SBAPP Regional Project

2022 – Present  |  AFD/FFEM-funded  |  Project Manager / Spatial Assessment Lead

Lead spatial assessment in the implementation of Malawi's component of the €4 million, 4-country Spatial Biodiversity Assessment, Prioritisation and Planning (SBAPP) Regional Project. Produced ecosystem type maps, ecological condition assessments, Red List of Ecosystems analyses and protection-level maps aligned with IUCN standards, directly informing Malawi's National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) and reporting against the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework targets.

National Ecosystem Assessment of Malawi

2023 – 2026  |  LUANAR  |  Author – Terrestrial Ecosystems Chapter

Authored the terrestrial ecosystems chapter of Malawi's first National Ecosystem Assessment. Reviewed and synthesised scientific literature and environmental datasets, integrating spatial data and ecosystem assessment findings into policy-relevant analyses supporting biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation aligned with Malawi 2063 development priorities.

UNICEF Malawi – CVSU Accessibility Mapping

2025 – 2026  |  UNICEF Malawi  |  GIS Specialist

Led geospatial assessment and mapping of Community Victim Support Units (CVSUs) across ten districts in Malawi to strengthen child protection and gender-based violence response planning. Conducted GPS surveys, geodatabase development, accessibility and terrain analyses, and produced GIS maps including disability-inclusive accessibility assessments for Persons with Disabilities.

MWASIP Bio-Physical & Ecological Monitoring System

2023 – 2025  |  Bintel Analytics  |  Software Developer

Designed and developed the BEMS — an integrated web-based spatial information management system for the Malawi Watershed Services Improvement Project. Integrated GIS datasets, remote sensing products and field monitoring information into web-based tools for environmental monitoring, reporting, and ecosystem management.

Invasive Alien Species Mapping – Nyika National Park

2024  |  Environmental Affairs Department  |  GIS & Remote Sensing Specialist

Conducted spatial assessment of invasive alien species within Nyika National Park using multi-temporal satellite and drone imagery. Performed land-cover classification, change detection, catchment and road network analyses, and GPS field verification — producing operational planning maps to guide management and ecosystem restoration interventions.
